TD Tech Ltd. (TD Tech or TD for short) is a wholly-owned enterprise co-founded by Siemens Communication Group (Siemens) and Huawei Technologies Ltd. (Huawei) on March 18th 2005 in Beijing. It is focused on the R&D, manufacturing, marketing and services of TD-SCDMA technology and related products. Focusing on the Chinese market, TD Tech continues to make great strides towards achieving the commercial success of TD-SCDMA. Of the more than 100 million USD of investment in TD Tech, 51% belongs to Siemens and 49% to Huawei.

Siemens Communication Group is one of the top three communication equipment suppliers in the world. Operating in 160 countries, it is a leader in the global GSM and 3G mobile communications market. Siemens’s TD-SCDMA program started in 1998 and has thus far cost over 200 million Euro. Huawei Technologies Ltd. is a fast growing communication equipment supplier based in China. With its marketing outlets in over 40 countries around the world, it is one of China’s biggest GSM and WCDMA/CDMA2000 manufacturers. These two leading communication equipment manufacturers cooperate and complement each other in technology and product R&D, services and integration, operations and management, marketing and other aspects, driving to be a leading force in the TD-SCDMA industry.

At present, TD Tech has about 700 employees. The executive management and backbone of the company are composed of experienced managers, developers and marketing staff selected by the two parent companies. Since February 12th 2004 when the Siemens and Huawei officially signed the contract to cooperate in Beijing, TD Tech has established a complete set of organizational structures including R&D, manufacturing, marketing, pre-sales and after-sales technology services, training, company management functions and other functions after a year in preparation.

In product development, TD Tech is aspiring to achieve further stability and reliability. Supported by the strong development capabilities of the two parent companies, TD Tech continues to quickly and steadily make progress in product R&D. The LCR1.0-based 1G NodeB, RNC and OMC products for commercial use were officially launched in 2005 as planned.
